김녕의 해변은 크게 성세기해변과 세기알해변으로 나뉘어져있습니다. 세기라는 이름은 이곳의 포구이름에서 따온듯 하구요. 성세기는 가까이에 왜적을 막기위한 환해장성이 있어 생긴 이름이고, 세기알이라는 이름은 세기라는 포구 아래쪽 작다라는 의미로 알이 붙은 것으로 여겨지고 있습니다. 

Kimnyeong's beaches are largely divided into Seongsegi Beach and Segi-al Beach. The name Segi seems to be derived from the name of a port here. Seongsegi is named because there is the Great Wall of Hwanhae to prevent Japanese pirates nearby, and the name Segi-al is believed to have been given to mean that it is small under the port of Segi.
